I’ve had the next few pages written for a long time now, do I’ve decided to throw it all out and wrong it!
Well, I’m sitting here, watching Scott Pilgrim and thinking about the last year. Not too many comics, I know, but life has been crazy. It’s been a crazy and eventful year. Got a promotion. Got a new girlfriend. Lost my dad. Dozens upon dozens of crazy events, stress filled days and periodic illness. It’s been one of the saddest years I’ve ever had, yet I don’t think I’ve ever been happier.
I want to thank everyone who reads this stupid little comic. The fact that you stuck around this long with a terrible update schedule really means a lot to me. I’ve used the last few weeks to get ahead and build a buffer. I’ve tweaked how I do the comic so you get the best out of me and yet I don’t have to stay up all hours of the night trying to ink and letter a new page. One of the biggest problems I’ve always had was lettering. It usually gets to be about 3am and I have no idea what the page should say. I mean, my script notebook has layouts and a vague statement like “ZOMG! big reveal here. Fight scene too I guess,” which means I have no actual dialogue. And it sucks. But I have the entire issue written and lettered before I start inking now, so, like, it’ll actually be coherent and make sense.
And, to finish this particular post off, check out what my girlfriend made me for Christmas: A crocheted The Cow!
Alright, new comic up tonight. Apologies on being missing the last week or two. Several people at work have been injured in various work-and-not-work-related accidents, so I’ve been filling in various ways. The next page shoulda been up right now, but I was at Canandaguia Comic Con yesterday, and somehow passed out on the couch when I got home. I’ll finish it up and post it after work.
(I’ve also been spending a lot of time working ahead on the next issue. If I can get that as a buffer, then I should be able to post regularly and on time for at least the next several months, if not longer . . . )
